Prince Edward County

Now, we can talk about what's going on in Alberta with their ballot questions, but we won't because we're talking about Ontario for a few seconds.

There are four municipalities with ballot questions this year, including Prince Edward County, Timmins, Wasaga Beach and Killaloe, Hagerty and Richards.

Big question before we talk about sort of actually I'll sort of merge this because I'm cautious of time here, Ian.

Are ballot questions important? What is the purpose of a ballot question to get residents feedback? Because in my opinion, the only reason you should go to a ballot question is if it's about financial challenges or financial debentures that you're going to have to borrow against the municipality.

So places that were already vulnerable, the vulnerability is stacking up, including automaking hubs Windsor, Oshawa, and Oakville, she said.

Other places, including wine regions in Niagara, Prince Edward County, and BC's Okanagan Valley, face new and dramatic risk.

While U.S. tariffs threaten more jobs in Toronto than any other Canadian city, its sheer number of employers and diversity of industries makes it less vulnerable overall to damage from losing access to U.S. markets.

Vinodrai said medium and small centers focused on sectors targeted by Trump are much more vulnerable to community-shaking job losses and business closures.

I've never had any, uh, wine from the Prince Edward, Prince Edward County, and you probably know-

And you're thinking today would be the time.

So Prince Edward County.

Just see how fucking far off I am, and I say, like, 2020.

So very similar to, you know, America the Bountiful, Postcards Across Canada, you know, is trying to capture cultural stories in Canada and from the prairies to the Maritimes, utilizing food as a guide.

And so our first one was Prince Edward County.

It was a little bit more fun because it was actually dog-friendly destinations in Prince Edward County.

But I went to a winery, a cidery, a brewery, and a dog-friendly hotel.

And we focused on the local terroir there and why certain places like Prince Edward County actually are able to grow grapes.

and um grow apples that are good for cider so again that focusing on the makers behind it the process you know and that sort of thing so and my like my lovely bichon marshmallow was really the star of that show so he got to trot around a bunch of fun stuff and you know had you know artisan you know dog treats and all of this good stuff but then we're going to montreal and which I'm editing right now.

And Montreal as a urban agriculture leader globally with the largest indoor farm and the largest rooftop greenhouse in the world.

So, uh, we are, uh, hosting, uh, more than a hundred landscapers.

We're going to be in Picton in Prince Edward County, beautiful area, uh, on Lake Ontario.

Um, very nice wine country area.

We're going to be visiting a company called Wentworth Landscapes.

They've just built a new state-of-the-art operations center.

And they've got their business dialed in.

So we're going to be taking everybody to Prince Edward County.

We have a bus that's going to be leaving from the Sheraton out at the Toronto Airport for those that want to jump on the bus and leave their car at the Sheraton, you know, leave the driving to us.
