Primm

Uh, I ran out of ideas when I was writing this.

That border town just inside Nevada, if you're driving from Los Angeles to Vegas, is Primm.

It's not Prime, it's Primm.

It's P-R-I-M-M.

I know, it's silly.

It doesn't quite fit, but here we are.

Um, and I think Primm is slowly shutting down, so that's okay.

But that was round one.

So that, that airport, that site is located about 30 miles south of Harry Reid off I-15.

So we, the Clark County Department of Aviation, we own approximately s- well, 6,000 acres to the east of I-15 between Jean and Primm.

And that was through three congressional acts back in the, the late 2000s, where we were able to purchase the 6,000 acres from BLM.

Another congressional act, 'cause as I mentioned, we're fully encroached at Harry Reid.

Uh, specifically I love the even money pick five contest, but I cannot enter in Nevada, but I can submit in Nevada.

Don't ask me why, I'm not a lawyer, all right? So I drive to Primm, Nevada and I'm worried I'm right on the border, are they gonna geo-locate me in the wrong spot, right? So I go a good quarter mile into California, and what's th- what's there? It's the lot- it's the California Lottery store.

And so it's the one where whenever the California Lottery goes high-

The goal is to keep up with expansion in the area.

Over the next two decades, plans call for rebuilding the interchanges in Sloan and Primm.

Further out, NDOT is looking at the possibility of adding more connections to nearby highways to give travelers alternatives in the event of a crash.

And so DARPA-- one of the things that was great about DARPA is that it is an organization, um, that is designed to just like create new things, right? Like you have some crazy challenge, DARPA is out there, um, and can create a program, pull together some of the best minds in, in the US to focus, like really focus on it for, you know, up to about four years, um, and try to solve a problem.

And so in, in 2004 and 2005, they came up with the DARPA Grand Challenge where they were trying to race vehicles from, uh, you know, Barstow, California to, um, Primm, Nevada.

It was about 135 miles, um, through-- on dirt roads.

And they just laid down a challenge.

It's also just sad.

Primm, Nevada, it used to be this, like-

... big thing where if you're on a road trip from California to Vegas, you stop in Primm.

And the gas station, it's almost, like, Buc-ee's-esque.

Yeah.

It's like a suburb.

Vegas is like a suburb of LA, so I drive through the desert, and you get right to the California-Nevada state line, and there's this Primm, Nevada, where they had Whiskey Pete's, Buffalo Bill's, couple big hotels there, and there's this giant shopping center, and it used to be bustling.

Like, it was all these outlet stores, and it was great, and I always stopped there.

And I got some, I got clothes.

And that's what America's supposed to be.

We don't want these morons dictating to us when we know that, uh, even if it's not just in, uh, California, I had said on X, you know, they're at Primm, Nevada, the state line, that place needs a lot of economic development and help.

They can just create some huge tire store where you can just go have your tires [laughs] changed on whatever tires you can't get in California, and go gamble and see a show, and maybe have some other stores there where you can buy the light bulbs that you can't get in California.

Uh, people are even saying that you should have different foods that are banned in California [laughs] there.

'Cause in Jean, they built this Chevron that has, like, 100 pumps.

Uh, and so I just see them doing the same thing.

They just bought everything down there at Primm, the Terrible's company.

Uh, they'll absolutely do that.

But what I'm thinking is a great business to start now.

Primm, Nevada is the city right across state line-

... [laughs] from, from California.

Yeah.

I just passed it the last weekend I was in Vegas.

Pr- Primm, Primm Tire Stores.

They'd make a mint-

You're pumping water.

You're in Primm.

Yeah, exactly.

You just scooped up some Primm real estate.

Exactly.

Not prime real estate, Primm real estate.
