Primeval Titan

Uh, that was interesting, and then on top of that, you know, I got to go and watch a movie called Prime Time, and the movie was really good.

Is it about Primeval Titan?

Canister will play it and say this card is good or bad and then that'll kind of be the end of it.

There is an alternate build of amulets going back to olden times and modern where you would play through the breach with Primeval Titan.

I believe that in such a deck like that, this actually increases the clock in a way that Velika doesn't.

It's very interesting when cards like this come up because I feel like when a card has been, I don't want to say overhyped, I feel that we have a tendency to try and downplay the evolution.

I'm really curious if no one had seen this card before, if there hadn't been months of discourse on people comparing this to like Primeval Titan 2 and stuff like that, just like the most unhinged takes, if we would be like, yeah, this is pretty cool.

This is like, it's a great ramped out mid-range card.

It has obviously a lot of downsides because, you know, we play in a format where, you know... black and white removal exists that isn't going to deal damage to it you know it's very easy to answer if our evaluation would be different in that in that situation but we've been reading just like the weirdest takes for three weeks i

It's just huge.

It's the same

size as Primeval Titan, and it tries to do the same thing, but it costs two less mana.

I have to ask, how many times have we seen Phyrexian Obliterator in Highlander over the years? I mean, a lot?

Literally, it is Valakut, except it's green and it's Giant Growth instead of Lightning Bolt.

And this card is like pretty interesting, right? Because now if you play this, you could play Galvamiah and actually have it do something relevant in your Titan deck.

And then you can attack with your Titan and you can have it get really, really big.

Like you can cast Through the Breach and put in Primeval Titan and then attack your opponent for 30 trample damage.

And that's usually pretty good.

And maybe this makes your mana better.

Valakut, Primeval Titan have existed there before.

I don't know what Modern looks like now, if it, if, if, if that would be just way too slow, but Amulet's still a top deck, so, like, you know, maybe there's something to be had there.

But there is the new green version of Valakut that just, for every forest that comes into play after a certain number, it just giant growths something.

And that card is banned.

You know? Like, Primeval Titan is banned for six mana that it enters and searches for two of any kind and puts them onto the battlefield.

Or when it attacks, it does the same thing.

I feel like the ceiling is higher for this than it is with... with Primeval Titan, so.

Yeah, you listed all of the land tutors, the crop rotation, vibrance, whatever.

You forgot about the four-mana creature that goes and gets you one land.

One of the other things we've said about expensive cards over the years is that a lot of times the rules text doesn't really matter because the card basically says, "Get to six or seven mana and you win the game.

Your opponent will scoop." I've talked about this with like Primeval Titan in the Bunmagic cube for many years.

It was like, it doesn't matter what that card does, 'cause you get a six mana and it doesn't even get to do its thing.

Your opponent scoops.

Like, you put it in your deck and you cast it, and then the game is over, and you didn't get to do like-
