Hey, welcome to the Upfront program for this Tuesday, day after the holiday.

And we're making our way... up to Election Day November, Primary Day tomorrow.

And we're going to talk with one of the candidates today who will be on the ballot in November.

Preparations are well underway for tomorrow's state primary election.

Quincy City Clerk Nicole Crispo says her department is ready to accommodate voters across the city.

Crispo says over 7,500 mail-in ballots were sent out and over 1,000 people participated in early in-person voting at City Hall last week.

Three losers in a pocket full of change.

The only chance they have is to join the radical left Democrats and try breaking into the primary system.

To all of them I say, praise be to Allah.

The proximate cause of this latest flare-up between the camps is Trump's decision to allow in 300,000 metric tons of ground beef to be imported in the next 90 days, a move Massey called worse than socialism.

Yep.

Or primary election week, and I don't know if anybody's gotten any mailers or texts.

And, and what I found is that, you know, these folks being, trying to get their voters to consider other candidates and not get anywhere with it.

Um, in this case, you know, you have sort of a, you know, not only a group of, uh, Republican Primary voters that were very enthusiastically in love with Donald Trump, essentially.

Like, they were just, you know, for several years now, they-- that's the one candidate they like.

Um, but also, this is a group that was very hostile to influence by their party elites, right? This is the same group of people who were told, um, in two thousand and eight, "You may not like John McCain, you might think he's too moderate or too squishy, or he'll sell you out as soon as he gets into office, but we need you to back John McCain.

But let's go to Alaska, where voters had primaries for the state's governor and one of its Senate seats.

And I think we should start by explaining the unique primary system in the great state of Alaska.

Yeah.

Which of these election nerds wants to take this?

Oh, I'll take it, because I do like reporting on, uh, primaries, and this- and Alaska is one of a few states that has this very interesting system.

It's called a nonpartisan primary system.

Basically, all candidates are on the same ballot, regardless of party.

All voters, regardless of party, have access to it, which is different in some states.
