Pride and Prejudice

Librarians, teachers, and the students get to pick what books they receive, and we want to give him stuff that's gonna get him excited, because in my heart, I think agency is what gets people reading.

So you have a kid that's not interested in Pride and Prejudice at all, not interested in Crime and Punishment, not interested in Of Mice and Men, but they're really interested in One Piece, and One Piece has over 100 volumes.

So I would rather that kid go and read all 100 volumes of One Piece if they want to read.

And while they're there, they may find something that's going to lead them to their next thing.

It's just so sloppy.

I kind of almost wish we did get the main Pride and Prejudice storyline also, because I want to see other people's reactions to Mrs. Bennet.

No, I feel like the Pride and Prejudice is just littered with people making hasty decisions about things.

And then as like a just cheating add on, we're also reading Pride and Prejudice as our like nap time mommy daughter book club.

So we don't read it aloud because I knew we were running out of time.

to read aloud but we just each i look at how long the chapters are and we just read one or two chapters at nap time so it doesn't have to be the only thing i'm reading because they're pretty short chapters but pride and prejudice i'm just convinced it's jane austen's version of much do about nothing so it's thematically perfect

again i know it well enough that like i can read a chapter very fast and it's been fun to like read it though and then have her read the same thing and talk about it and she's seen the miniseries and the movies like the plot is there enough for her that she can pick up some of the humor too

Both Eleanor and Marianne strive for love while the circumstances in their lives constantly change.

This is my second favorite Jane Austen book after Pride and Prejudice, almost tiring, I might say, for Mansfield Park.

I know a lot of people don't like Mansfield Park, but I love it.

So I'm curious to see how this one goes.
