I remember as a kid watching, I think it was Pretty Cure, um, in the early 2000s, where it's, like, the, the girl with orange hair wearing a black outfit and the girl with black hair wearing a white outfit.

You ever seen this one? You ever heard of it?

No, no.

Wait a minute, Echo Jr. and the Grand Ocean Treasure, that's a thing? Okay, well, there is some Sega related stuff, just not quite what I was expecting.

Heck, there were even some popular IPs in Japan, like Precure.

Did you see Dragon Ball? Dragon Ball would have been a bad fit.

Doraemon would actually be a lot better, yeah.

But as it is, yeah.

Probably more likely to do a Pretty Cure or definitely going to do Sailor Moon in the future.

good show young ladies don't play fighting games was great definitely a continuation of our our toxic Yuri strong contender for toxic Yuri show of the year complete with like a bit of like because like they're you they're playing fighting games there's a degree of like stuff going on there related to that we have a few moments where like the instead of the impassioned love confession it is like These are people who are very fighting game pilled and Street Fighter pilled at that.

P.S., by the way, Josh, I wanted to let you know about some Street Fighter VI news.

Street Fighter and the current Precure, which is Star Detective Precure, will have a four-episode crossover starting on December 17th of this year.

And hopefully, we'll maybe see a crossover with Kamen Rider Double, because Star Detective did have one with Detective Conan already, and I honestly just think it would be pretty cool.

So basically the gist from the information here that out of bio has sent me is that a star detective pre-cure, which is, I don't know if you know, but like it's an anime of like a, it's like a magical girl anime.

those weird wacky ones.

Yeah, I haven't watched any of them, but people really like the Precure series, and it's been around for a long time.

But yeah, that's what it is.

Loved her style for forever.

I know she's a big fan of, what is it, Pretty Precure? I think that, yeah.

I think that's what it's called.

Precure, at least.

Like, oh, well, if she likes it, I should look into it at some point.

I think it's just structured on super robot shows that came before, which have that very super Sentai-esque pacing structure, right? I am watching a Pretty Cure show for the first time, which is basically just Power Rangers.

And boy, would I love it if they just didn't do the formula for once, but they can only adjust it in small ways.

Like sometimes Conan Edogawa just shows up and instead of being attacked by magical girls, the villain is karate'd by Ran and is like, what the fuck? What is going on? Why is this teenage girl beating the shit out of me? This isn't how this is supposed to go.

And to its credit, it has seen innovation and experimentation over the years.

I'm told, since I haven't actually watched it, that Precure eventually escalates to a scale and character drama not unlike what you see from some long-running shounen shows like One Piece.

And I probably don't even need to elaborate on the impact that Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica had in showing the genre had enough flexibility to paint with really dark colours.

So while I wouldn't count myself as much of an aficionado this time around, I do understand the general sense and appeal, and was thus interested to see what today's anime, Kabushiki Gaisha Maji Lumiere, also known as Maji Lumiere Magical Girls Inc., also known as Maji Lumiere Co. Ltd., could bring to the table since from the preview they were going at the genre from another angle.

That sounds good.

Also, Kai, aka ClearAndSweet on YouTube, goddestroller.com, do not, I repeat, do not pick Precure Season 5 Part 2 because it's like the best season or whatever.

I don't care.

I'm going to put my foot down and we don't watch these kinds of shows,
