Enrollment at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, a small state school near the Canadian border, has skyrocketed.

That's thanks to its reputation for offering fast, affordable degrees.

The public college is known for letting students earn a bachelor's degree in less than a year.

Administrators say most students can complete their degrees in under a year for less than $10,000 in tuition.

It's this rapid growth and reputation for speed that have led to an examination by the New England Commission of Higher Education.

In April, The Post reported that Presque Isle is one of a number of universities across the country that use an approach touted on social media as college hacking or speedrunning degrees.

The University of Maine system responded to the accreditor with a 20-page response.

And two of my memories are there was one man who was homeless, still makes me cry, and he had this huge bag of cans tied to his bike with a big American flag on the bike.

And he didn't wanna be on screen, but he said to the reporter, "I might be homeless, but I'm still an American." And he took the cans to the Red Cross, which I'm sure he could've used only for himself.
