He's done Black Bag, which was really great last year.

He did Presence, which is an interesting film.

It's a whole film from the point of view of a ghost, so it's haunting the ghost in his first per- person point of view.

Uh, he's been around since, like, the late or early '90s, I'd say, doing stuff.

David's amazing, yeah.

I, I first saw you in, in Soderbergh's Presence, um, and I wanna use that as a, as a jumping point into all of your, uh, relationships to your frame and your DP, Ken Seng.

Um-

Mm-hmm

Incredible, yeah.

He's a phenomenal DP.

But the cinematography in Presence was obviously super unique.

We were in the, we were in the POV of the actual entity of some sort.

Some you'll want to check out for yourselves, and some you may well wish to give a wide berth and invest the time elsewhere.

This week, I've watched Watch Them Come Blood, Cryptic Plasm, Habit, and Presence.

Just so you know, all of these films are found on Amazon Prime and HBO Max in the UK, and of course, you may need a subscription to those services to check them out or pay a rental fee.

It's also worth checking free streaming services such as Tubi, as you may find some of these films on there too.

It won't be a movie for everyone, but it's an important feature in the horror genre and I think it very much deserves a couple of hours of your time to give it a little love.

So for my screen rating, Habit is getting four screams.

My final film for this week is called Presence.

A family move into an empty suburban house hoping for a fresh start.

Are a lot of the themes and motifs of these pieces of media exactly what we're talking about now? I'm gonna preface this with you guys, that I'm about to talk about two pieces of media.

One of them is a book turned into television series that actually isn't even that much like the book at all, and then also a movie, a 2024 Neon film called Presence, okay? So feel, feel free if you're afraid of spoilers because I- We are kind of getting into the nitty-gritty here.

I feel like a lot of people have seen Haunting of Hill House, though, at least at this point.

Yeah.

Exactly.

Not n- nothing bad about that, you know? Just kinda, it's interesting to think about.

So lastly, I wanna talk about the movie Presence.

Steven Soderbergh, of all people, just got on board with, uh, this new documentary he has coming out about John Lennon's final interview.

Steven Soderbergh, who one of his most recent movies, Presence, he shot with a little tiny Sony digital camera that he w- had strapped to himself, and he was running around doing this practical, hands-on filmmaking.

This new film coming out, the, the John Lennon doc, reportedly uses a ton of AI.

Doug Liman is making an, a movie featuring AI-generated sets and lighting, which is gross.
