And on this day back in 1967, Robert Stanfield, then Premier of Nova Scotia, was elected as the national leader of the PC Party.

Okay, then provinces need to align because removing tariffs doesn't help if provincial wholesalers refuse to order American products.

And finally, brands need to reconnect with Canadians who have been boycotting American labels to the Nova Scotia Premier's point.

And y- for Mark Carney, at the moment, it has made him quite popular in Canada, but who knows what happens down the road.

I was speaking to, um, the Premier of Nova Scotia a few days ago on one of our programs, and he was honest about the fact that this can be quite risky because they do eventually want to strike some sort of deal.

Tariffs are not gonna help, uh, you know, farmers, businesses, or people really on either side of the border.

And so they're clear that there has to be some way to bring tensions back down, to, to bring cooler heads back to the table, if you will.

And, uh, and that is what these tariffs are designed to do, uh, designed to hurt key segments of the United States, uh, in places that are near and dear to Donald Trump, whether it be Kentucky distillers or Iowa farmers or, or Michigan, uh, and Ohio auto manufacturers and auto parts manufacturers.

Yeah, I was, uh, interviewing the Premier of Nova Scotia on one of our programs, and I was asking him about this question of putting pain on some American states versus the pain that his own, uh, province might face with some of these tariffs.

And he said it's a fine line to walk.

Because on the one hand, they do want to be able to at some point come back to the negotiating table and agree to some sort of deal that would walk down these tariffs.
