So I'll be, I'll be talking about-

What is in a Catholic bookstore? Is it kinda like a Christian bookstore? You got stuff like Precious Moments and a bunch of Bibles?

Uh, Catho- it, it's a bit more, um-

um-... figurines.

[laughs] Well, Precious Moments are figurines.

Okay, I don't know what those are.

They're the little-

Surely you have some sort of sign.

Amanda, he says, I'm all about the precious moments figurines being turned into elements of horror.

As soon as you shared that, I Googled photos and was not disappointed.

And I love the fact that they've changed the names from precious moments to precious mutants.

There's another name, too, that I can't think of.

But I did today, Jeff.

I found one of my precious moments, and it's the little girl kneeling, and she's got her Bible.

And I was trying to think of what I could turn this into.

I wish she was here with me right now." Why do I think that way? Because I love my wife.

And when we first began dating, uh, I, I remember trying to figure out things that she liked, and I found out that she liked those little Precious Moments figurines.

How many of you are old enough to remember Precious Moments figurines? That's what sh- that's what she liked.

And so, I, I mean, I couldn't keep money in my pockets.

I'm a s- college student, but I'm buying all these figurines.

Jesus is the Messiah pastel sweatshirt out of a Christian bookstore catalog.

I was gifted Precious Moments figurines, all of those things.

And that was my authentic faith.

This is not like people believe it or they're being like suckered.

No, that is not how religious formation works.

And frankly, I don't think all of that has to be tossed out.

I still like my precious moments figurines.

They are still sentimentally important to me.

Yeah

Um, and then where they are the political excuse, right?

What, what is the Hi Babies collection? A popular line of small collectible vintage dolls produced by, uh, Samuel Butcher.

He made Precious Moments.

Okay, so that really didn't tell me much.

I forgot about Precious Moments.

Laura was a devoted stepmother, and the kids could see that she loved their father.

She enjoyed traveling and collecting keepsakes, like Longaberger baskets, Yadros porcelains, and Precious Moments figurines.

Together, Rich and Laura built a warm, loving home, a place of laughter and tradition.

They enjoyed needlepoint together and made hook rugs.
