We won't go there today, but it can be anything from trying to change the dominant narrative.

So we've seen, for example, the Pravda Network try to change how generative AI applications talk about the Kremlin, and they've found they were actually able to do that.

They were able to change the narratives in a range of Gen AI products.

all the way through to directly trying to interfere with military capabilities, you know, national security decision-making and degrade or change leadership capacity.

The reality, though, is a little bit more complex.

First, Pravda Network, known by Western governments, seeks to target political debates, foment division, and stoke discord in political circles around campaigns of interest.

Pravda Network is a Russian organization.

Now, Dr. Brian McQuinn, who is the co-director of the University of Regina's Center for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Conflict, partnered with the University of Alberta to develop software to track influence campaigns from foreign countries.

The technology is called Cypher AI and has been providing analysis to both the federal and provincial government.
