This is the weirdest duo I've ever seen in my life.

There's a lot of truth in that.

The Prankster was created by Jerry Siegel of Superman fame and Slowkavia's John Sikella of Superman non-fame.

Sokella was a longtime ghost for Joe Shuster, beginning in 1940, and continued on being a primary artist on the Superboy strip through 1960.

Debuting in August 1942's Action Comics 351 as a cover-featured villain, Oswald Loomis was described as that cherubic, clowning, comedy king of crime, and this mastermind of malignant mirth.

It's clear National thought that they were onto something with this guy.

They were not.

I wanted to be lazy and not research Prankster, but the writing on his Who's Who entry was lousy and I know better than to rely on Wikipedia.

So I went back to the original story, the case of the crimeless crimes, to better make sense of this guy.

This is the age of, like, hard-traveling heroes.

But at the same time, like, Mister Mxyzptlk and, like, the Zamarons and the Prankster and the Toyman and stuff, they're all still around.

Bronze Age comics are, well, let's be real, most of them are just regular old superhero adventures, but still, a lot of them are weird, and that's partly because they're weird in their own right, and that's partly because we're in a period where we're leaving the Silver Age.
