Again, there really isn't any pro football to speak of.

So there's this strange collection of towns and teams, Canton, Akron, Rock Island, Pottsville, Duluth, Portsmouth.

It's funny, as we record this in 2026, near the start of the NFL season, the Chicago Bears has had the first six touchdown rushing game in an opener since they evoked the Rock Island independence, which I said sounds more like a newspaper name than the name of a football team.

Like all these teams were mentioned as like the last time a team scored six touchdowns in the open course.

It is funny if you look backward and think, how did Green Bay ever get an NFL franchise? Well, it's not quite the right question in 1920.

There are NFL teams in places that are actually smaller than Green Bay.

Green Bay was actually a port city right there on the Great Lakes, right? I think the better question, of course, is why did Green Bay end up being the one that survived, right? Not Duluth, not Rock Island, not Pottsville, but Green Bay.
