The fallacy underlying almost all strains of Christian nationalism is a postmillennial eschatology.

And I hope you can see immediately why Christian nationalism would appeal to someone with that view of the end times.

But the chief problem with postmillennialism is that there is no suggestion anywhere in Scripture that it is the duty of the church to establish political control in the world before Christ will return to reign and rule.

Just hear what I'm saying for a minute, because we use a lot of these words differently from group to group.

Post-millennial is gonna say after the extended kingdom growth, then Jesus will come.

If you ask them about Revelation 20, pre-millennialists are gonna say that's, Revelation 20 is all future.

A-millennials are gonna say Revelation 20 is symbolic, and symbolic of the present time we live in.

So they believe that right now we're in the present reign of Christ, kind of an already not yet thing, and that one day Christ will return, and when Christ returns, there's the resurrection when he returns and the judgment.

It's all gonna happen right there, and eternal state after that.

Postmillennialism believe that the Gospel advances, the kingdom actually triumphs, then Christ returns when it does, and then a resurrection and judgment, eternal state.

Now, there's different views within all these camps, okay? The real debate is not whether or not Jesus is coming back.

Hoffer brought up the issues related to hope and the nature of the future, time and again.

Postmillennialism is a doctrine about the future.

Because it is a slow-burn doctrine, the yeast works through the loaf gradually, it avoids the errors of revolutionary hastiness, but it also provides direction.

Dominion is not a distraction from the gospel.
