I am a parent coach, positive discipline lead trainer, and captain of the adolescent ship over at Sproutable.

I'm also a speaker and a published author.

I've been working with parents and families for over 20 years, and continue to navigate my own experience of being a mom with my two young adult kids.

We have to start from the outside in when we're playing around with this ecosystem.

So the outermost layer is you, your personal growth and development, your regulation, your mindset, again, those explicitly lived values, right? Those beliefs that you're carrying with you.

And Alfred Adler, who we know is the basis of the work of Positive Discipline, Alfred Adler would say that we're all operating out of private logic, right? The set of conclusions that we drew about ourselves and about how the world works, mostly before we were even 10 years old, mostly without anybody helping us examine them.

And the private logic that each of us has is running the show, whether or not we know that it exists.
