Portageville

The Indians take on Frederictown tomorrow at 5.

The C2-D1 tournament's at Portageville.

It starts Thursday.

Malden is seated first.

We'll start with Class 1, District 1.

There's Thayer, Portageville, Hayti, Ch- uh, Charleston, Cabool, and Malden.

To me, there's probably three teams that have an opportunity to win this district.

That is Thayer, that is Portageville, and that is Hayti.

I think all three teams have an opportunity.

Looks like probably Thayer's gonna come up with the number one seed.

And then the junior quarterback, Kipton A- uh, Atkinson, excuse me, Kipton Atkinson, has stepped in, done a nice job for them as well running the offense.

But Thayer's gonna be a tough out.

Troop E reports the injured were taken to a Cape Hospital.

The crash happened on an outer road near Portageville just before 5 yesterday afternoon.

You've got East Prairie at Kennett tonight, Scott City hosting Portageville.

I had not been following Scott City, and I saw they got their first win of the year last week.

What has happened there?

But they have also ...

They've been in some games this year where they have been competitive, they just haven't been able to get over that hump, so to speak.

But yeah, Portageville, I think, is a better team, but I wouldn't be surprised if Scott City gives them a game.

But Portageville coming off a tough loss to Caruthersville last week, I expect them to bounce back this week.

Absolutely.

Uh, Portageville with a victory against Scott City, 44 to 20, so nice bounce-back win for Portageville.

They look strong.

Uh, Charleston, 42-nothing over Malden.

Right.

I think they're healthier, and they're playing really well.

You saw it last week in that, their dominant win they had over Portageville.

All right.

Malden's at Charleston.

Portageville at Scott City.

Popper Bluff is at Sykeston.

Paragould at Nettleton.

But in 1997, at a house in Memphis, Brashears tied three women up and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

And in 1998, in Portageville, Missouri, he shot Sherri Scherrer, who was 38 at the time, and her daughter, Megan, who was only 12 at the time, in their own home.

Now, his daughter, Deborah, was five years old when he got out of prison and returned to the family, where he helped raise her two half-sisters as well, and she has two photographs of him.

In one of them, he is pretending to choke her sisters while they beat him with hairbrushes.

We get to Rogers' background and history here.

He says he was born in Atkins, Arkansas, and moved to Portageville, Missouri some 28 years ago.

He graduated from high school in Portageville and then went into the service for our country for four years during the Korean conflict.

He now makes his home in Malden.
