Apparently there are two bidders shortlisted, both of which want to put the terminal at the Port of Taranaki, and the ministers apparently haven't yet said which of those they prefer, but also haven't yet apparently given the go ahead or even the green light to the whole thing happening at all.

But environmentalists oppose the product due to its links to deforestation.

You may remember as well Greenpeace activists staged a protest at an Agri-Feeds PKE storage shed in Port Taranaki last year.

And at this event, Seed and Grain New Zealand Vice President Jo Townsend of Midlands Seeds, well, she raised concerns about the challenges for arable to compete against Indonesia's usually cheaper PKE.

She says New Zealand's arable manufacturing sector doesn't have the government's support to make it equally competitive.
