Port Jefferson

Back in the day, Long Island, Suffolk County, we didn't have the interstates.

It was like to get from Port Jefferson, Stony Brook, where Dom lived, to Morello Shop was five hours one way.

And he took a one-hour lesson with Morello each week and then would drive home, and he never got off the practice pad.

At one point, he's like, Joe, let's get on the kit, man.

Imagine it gets worse and worse and this operation gets bigger and bigger.

I just saw fire trucks from Port Jefferson, East Islet, Wisconsin, Hoppog, Selden, just come racing into the scene, I guess, to help relieve some of the New York City firefighters.

They've come here also with backhoes, with generators, with searchlights, medical equipment, a couple of trailer trucks with water supplies because it's hot down there and steamy and suffocating because of all the powder that's there, the ash.

forklifts, all kinds of things to carry through the night, and they searched for survivors and the bodies that were undoubtedly in there.
