Port Colborne

Came yesterday, found out what's been going on for the whole month of September, and aye, aye, aye, it's been just a freak show.

And then I heard out in Leamington they've had network issues, and then my accountant out in the Port Colborne area said we're having network issues out here.

And I said, I've been chewing my fingernails off, and I don't have any since the beginning of September.

I said, it's been like dial-up, and I'm not even kidding.

I remitted the twenty-eight dollars in a registered letter, which he received, and that is the last of it, for he left for parts unknown as I am informed by the people in Salford.

We can sympathize with Mr. Richardson, having had many similar experiences.

There was something, too, that left us melancholy this time of the year because of the sense of ending that was ahead.

Summer's demise and back to school meant things like no more classics, illustrated comics, reading a marathon of those, walking across the railway swing bridge near the end of 6th Street to fish beneath it, cycling with friends to far-off destinations like Port Colborne's Nickel Beach, and watching movies from lawn chairs on warm summer nights at the Welland Drive-In.

All in all, though, a good time of life that was rich in experiences and memories.

And the Welland Canal is open in 1824, and it stretches from Port Weller on Lake Ontario to Port Colborne on Lake Erie.

I wasn't super familiar with the geography over there, but if you look at it, it basically just moves across the Niagara Peninsula, and it allows vessels to move into the western Great Lakes from the St. Lawrence River and the ocean and everything.

So it's what really opens up the Great Lakes to be international ports.

But he insisted we, uh, we're, you know, he wanted to see me hit a golf ball, and he's very, very kind.

So I drive out to where he has been living for the last few years, and I get in my car and drive to Port Colborne.

I, I get to Port Colborne, which is about an hour and 50 minutes from where I live, and as I'm driving into the golf course, I'm like, "This is not where Mark teaches." [laughs]
