I really, of those cars, it's funny because it's like they fit like a glove or at least the rally car, every time I get in it, it feels like I'm sliding into something really comfortable.

I'm sure you each have that feeling when you're getting into a car that you're kind of bonded with, right? The 993, which should be the most refined, best driving experience car, it's the one I still feel least comfortable in.

Now, I haven't owned it for long.

I've only owned it for about six months.

but it is it doesn't and i put the most miles on it of late i mean i drove that all the way down to palmetto bluff and back i mean the car is great don't get me wrong it just there's something about one that just you slide into it it feels right the wheel just in the right place the suspension rebounds kind of like you think it should the car behaves the way you think it should The 99, the 964 is a C4.

And I've kind of gotten used to that drive.

But he's definitely an advocate for driving.

I mean, to the point where he bought his 993, Porsche 993, the 911.

and cut the leather seats because he couldn't get the car seat tether in.

Yeah.

993 Targa, 993 GT2, early Cayenne as well.

First two generations of Cayenne completely.

And then I ran the project into the second generation Cayenne model.

The back of 993, we were buying 993s for 12 grand, manual coupes.

Wow.

I'd like to have them days back.

996 3.4s, 3.6s, and the first generation of 997.

So that is, my product knowledge is best on 993, 996, 997, because that was the era that I grew up with them, working with them.

So I know that sort of them cars really, really well.

And I think you can see that when you look on our website, I try and buy a lot of 997 turbos, 996 turbos, because I buy what I like as well.

and they're all Porsches, okay? I'm ready.

So you can have a 993 Carrera, you can have a 968 Club Sport, or you can have a very late 928, or 928 in American speak, GTS, okay? But you've got to buy one, you've got to borrow one, and you've got to choose which one of those three cars you're burning.

This is tough for me.

Can you just explain first bit of context? Why is it tough for you? Do you have a particular history with Porsche?

Yeah, so we got, anyway, we got only the DOT 2.

I remember seeing that car sliding across the cover of Road and Track magazine, and I wanted one for a long time, bought one, loved it.

But really, I grew up in the 993 generation, and I used to work on Porsches too.

We called the 928 the mechanic's full-time employment car.

And there was one not on display at this car show, just in the car park, and he was... spent ages taking pictures of it.

But his other favorite car, to the extent that I noticed the MX-5 has been replaced as his, um, like WhatsApp avatar at the moment by his new other favorite car, very specifically a 993 shape 911.

Oh.

He believes this to be the best of the 911s, and it's like, well, now, that's interesting.

You're also going to hear from some pretty special legends.

the reason we called it zondan act is we had over 40 years of porsche design in attendance yeah yeah yeah yeah legend so you know where do we start we had tony hatter designer of the 993 in career with gt and gt1 this is among other things, you know, Grant Larson, the original Boxster, the Porsche 997, the Carrera GT show car, many special wishes projects.

Latterly, we had Elliot Watts, who's still working in the Porsche Design Studio.

He's not retired yet.

So that was cool.

He's also designed the 993 GT2.

I wonder what happened to that car.

It will be free in the end.

My 993 Turbo was free.

You know, I wanna put a peg in the Supra thing, because we have one that I'm pulling up in the market report that had some miles on it, it was also Renaissance Red, and it sold for insane money.

I don't know about insane money, but it sold higher than I thought it would.

You know why? 'Cause it's the greatest car ever.
