No, there wasn't that much setting back.

I mean, we talked today about when we shot our Chasing Death film, when we had the Rossion Q1 and the Porsche Backdate 930 Turbo thing.

We were in bumper-to-bumper traffic on a road that's a lane and a half wide.

But at the same time, though, I mean, the 996 911 Turbo is a Metzger engine.

But anyhow, I went with, I think there was a flight attendant that went with me, and they had the Ford Fiestas all out in a circle, painted like a rainbow.

And then in the main entrance, there was a Porsche 911 Turbo 930.

And so I asked the friend, the ex-president of TWA, who would do something like that? And he said, well, that's gotta be Ben Heydrich.

And I said, well, I'd like to meet Ben.

Okay, what next?

And that number 17 car was very, very quick earlier on.

It is... not the better paced of the two cars Paul-Loup Chattan is in 12th position but it's not as if we haven't had enough drama but if you want drama in motor racing people dives down the inside at turn one you'll get that stopped it's the old over and under but people in the middle of the track will block that maneuver and Ricky can't come back through as they go through turns three four and five under that one I'm loving this I am absolutely loving this because I can't see who has the advantage my piece of paper has got lots of calculations on about 23 and 24 laps to the end of the race and I don't say this but I'm going to have to say it we have stayed since the two extra formation laps which started the race effectively under yellow but we did have a side by side restart we have not seen the intervention of the Porsche 911 Turbo and this is the type of endurance racing I love to see because you're seeing the relative strength and weaknesses of all of these manufacturers not only of their cars and how they use the tyres and the engine and fuel etc but their strategy is playing out in different ways as well and that's what happens when everybody isn't being able to dive in and take a cheap stop behind a safety car chipper

Your only state in fact, you know, I don't have an issue with that because to this point we've had two full course yellows but nothing more severe as Charmy Lacey struggling to get by one of the Lexus in the GT field.

Charmy Lacey drives the second placed Alpine and it has lost a bit of ground now.

Yeah, right, yeah.

And the idea there was, okay, a 911 Turbo will do whatever it was, four flats, zero to 60, but only if you do this wheel-spinning launch.

How many owners are willing to do that to their top-of-the-line cars? Or even if they're willing, how many people are willing to do that on a Denver street in a green light? And in fact, on a 911 Turbo, If you did a more normal launch, it was actually slower than an automatic Corvette of the era.

It was like a two-second difference between a normal...

It was like six flat normally, but four seconds flat or so with the wheel spinning launch.

Why would they have a vested interest into synthetic fuels? They want to keep those vehicles driving on the roads for decades to come.

And as we move to other fuel sources, electric, hydrogen, and flow cell, how is Porsche going to keep its originals? 911 Turbo is alive.

How am I going to be able to keep a 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo Corona S on the road? I'm going to have to transfer it into electric.
