Poor Creature

It's a new Irish documentary arriving in cinemas after a very acclaimed run at international festivals.

and it's a vibrant, thought-provoking exploration of contemporary Irish music, particularly folk, I think it's fair to say, and how that's tied up with identity, culture, featuring such artists as the Merry Wallopers, Lancam, Poor Creature, Jinx Lennon and many more.

It was filmed over four years and the film combines live performances, candid conversation and archive footage to examine how a new generation of musicians is drawing on Ireland's rich musical past while embracing influences from punk, hip-hop and experimental music.

And some of the guests are interviewed in some of the most strange places.
