Ponce

So this is how America made Puerto Rico commonwealth.

And my fam- so where I'm from in Ponce, um, there's this hill that swirls.

I can't think of the name of it right now, but everybody from Ponce knows what I'm talking about.

So it's one hill that swirls.

My great-grandfather took everybody from the bottom, from the, where the land was, to the top of that hill.

I was in Maryland at the Salisbury poultry, um, factories.

I was in Ponce, Puerto Rico, doing, um, outreach every single day.

So this platform started as a way for me to just be mentally okay [laughs] and to do something that was-

Yeah

He was born and raised in Guamo.

So it's like South Central-ish, small town, closer to Ponce than it is to the metro area in Puerto Rico.

And whenever there are direct flights from Ponce, that's easier to get to my family's hometown than from like San Juan.

And my mom is from the Dominican Republic.

She was born and raised in Bonal.

Big match, so, uh, big win there for Americo Rocco, Tony Salazar, and Ringo Mendoza.

In World Wrestling Council in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ron Starr defeated The Invader One, Jose Gonzalez.

In a couple years he's gonna kill a f- kill a fellow named Bruiser Brody.

Uh, he beat him in a tournament final to become the first WWC TV Champion.

To the west, the slope is gradual and extends also to the shore.

On the northern side, and on the southern side east of Ponce, wide sandy stretches connect the uplands with the sea.

To the southwest, beyond Ponce, are coast hills, some of them slanting from the central mountain and ending in bold bluffs a hundred feet high.

Beyond these are graceful valleys, in one of which is the lake of Guanica.

Nearby are the cerros, low, rounded wooded hills, similar to the knobs of our western states.

Farther west there is no good harbor on the northern coast.

Even the busy seaport Arecibo is open to the sea.

On the south side, Ponce, a flourishing center of trade, has a long curved anchoring place, with no wharves to which vessels may tie.
