If we wanted to, if future AIs will be able to kill everyone, Polymath asks, why can't it fix entitlement fraud, elderly scam farms, and narcotics trafficking? Several of us chimed in to say that AI can totally solve at least those first two problems if you gave it the compute and authorization to do so.

You might even be able to do it fully with public records and one highly motivated individual if the authorities would then act on the information.

AI cuts down the cost of identifying the culprits by orders of magnitude.

That's I-shaped.

And now what Polymath is, or what Werner is telling us, is that we should become more like T-shaped, meaning that we still want to go deeper into the technology, into our area of expertise, because we need in this age of AI the critical thinking.

But at the same time, being a polymath means that you are expanding to a new domain, new technologies.

You want to improve your business acumen, your understanding of the industry, and so on.

So let me make something out of my life.

It is sourced from indigenous idioms of the Muslim world rather than an imposition by the global north.

Today, polymathy brings different kinds of thinking to bear on political, economic, and environmental problems.

As Avicenna's clinical method and Al-Khwarizmi's precision-driven mathematics attest, exactitude and abstraction are as much cornerstones of a liberal arts education as breadth itself.

What each of these lives shares, finally, is the cross-cultural exposure that pluralistic patronage made possible.

Polymathy has never been a solitary pursuit, but one fed by contact across traditions.

Specifically, what is it? How does it work? When do you need one? And when do you not need one? And then last, I'm going to talk to you guys just a little bit about lifestyle design philosophy going forward today.

And basically, my segment is titled, Specialization is a Trap, Why 2026 Belongs to Polymaths.

And I have always advocated becoming a polymath.

And I've always tried to explain to people that when you say you're a polymath, it doesn't mean you have to be equivalent to the well-known historical examples like Leonardo da Vinci or something like that.

They're laying the table for it right now.
