You may have seen on the television news channels recently that the celebrated queen of the polka dot, the Japanese eccentric and artist Yayoi Kusama, had passed on to the realm of Japanese ancestors.

For the ceremony, she designed a two-person orgy wedding gown meant to be worn by the grooms, and she used a phone book to officiate instead of a Bible.

The weekend saw the 80th anniversary of the birth of Farouk Balsara, known internationally as Freddie Mercury.

Yayomi Kasama, a Japanese pop artist known as the High Priestess of Polka Dots, died on August 14th at the age of 97.

Also on August 14th, R.J. Kaiser, sound editor and ADR expert with credits which included Master and Commander, Inception, and Deadpool, died at the age of 73.

The very next day, Tommy John, former MLB pitcher, died at the age of 83.

These concepts that she's playing with with polka dots really are about the negative spaces, the ways in which the dot is a single particle among billions.
