Polity

it took another interstellar incident to push the Council over the line.

On October 19th, 2264, three ships of the Tandar Polity Armed Forces attacked the Federation merchant marine vessel Patakaran without warning one light-year out of Kratasa, having misidentified the ship as a Republican commerce raider.

The cruiser, USS Lagos, was ordered into the region to dissuade further attack, detaching itself from the small force monitoring the conflict.

The Lagos was then sighted and attacked by two Polity frigates on the morning of the 21st in a short action that left one frigate crippled and the other fleeing, with no losses on the Lagos.

Yet, the Polity vessels were now attacking neutral shipping and violating Cretacean sovereign space.

The threat could not be ignored.

Though Westcott pressed for moderation, both Vale and Defence Commissioner Guyena leveraged support in the Assembly to get their way.

Hello, Tandar Prime, Bugos wrote derisively in her diary.
