Okay.

So there's a character, Polowski, and she's Polish.

And when I say characters come into your room, you've got no idea.

Nina arrived Polish.

She arrived with thick black, like very traditionally Polish looking, thick black plaits her mum made her wear with red ribbon.

And her mum is Eleni.

And Eleni is pretty much everyone's favourite character.

So her way of showing love is through food.

I joke.

It's the Polish and the English in me.

They're both potato fans.

So it's same as white as white can be.

as well like you mentioned pomegranates we like to add there's a really yummy chicken dish that we it's roasted baked apples with chicken so yummy and then cabbage and you put it all together and it's like lots of really different tastes happening there it's delicious but it feels really grounding as well for the winter versus I don't know I just love apples in the winter fall too

Yeah.

There's a lot of Polish dishes that have apples in it or stewed fruits as part and French as well.

I was like, OK, you got to bust it out.

The Venn diagram of Irish and Polish food is a circle because it's basically like cabbage, potatoes and meat.

Like we had the pierogi and the kielbasa and guamki.

I would say pierogi was like stocked in our freezer often from the store.

But today, today we're diving into Jesse's Polish roots with his recipe for a plum karpatka.

Listen, I've been I've been pitching a car parka for years.

This is just OK, I'm gonna be real.

I feel like this is I'm building suspense here.

But it's this Polish cake that I stumbled across several years ago.

And I was like, this is this is cool.

... yeah, mixed cabbages.

Polish massive.

And then carrots.

Normally like chantenays or something, um, that we would just like, once we like finished like cooking the meats, um, over the fire, we would like sort of dress them with like rapeseed oil and salt.

Yeah.

It's dreamy.

The treats are so popular there that Fat Tuesday is often called Fasnacht Day.

The Polish doughnut, the paczki, is popular in US and Canadian cities with large Polish communities, such as Chicago, Milwaukee, Windsor, and Detroit.

In regions of the country where apples are widely grown, especially the Northeast and Midwest states, cider doughnuts are a harvest season specialty, especially at orchards open to tourists, where they can be served fresh.

Cider doughnuts are a cake doughnut with apple cider in the batter.

For every palatinate district in its special diet, dietine, enjoined upon its nuncios or representatives an imperative mandate for the faithful carrying out of which they were to render strict account on their return from the national diet.

The federal character of the Polish state was kept up until its downfall, especially as Prussia and Lithuania kept aloof from the Polish diet.

In 1563, the year of the final closing of the Council of Trent, the Polish Diet renewed its request for an impartial Polish national synod, and the primate, the Archbishop of Gneisen, Uchanski, a favorer of the Reformation, was inclined to concede that demand.

But then came the shrewd Commandone as papal nuncio, and in private conversations depicted to the king the dangers that would arise from the meeting of a synod at which the most various and opposite sects would have a hearing.
