I actually remember playing Sun and Moon at our old house.

So I remember playing this one outside on the porch.

His name is Goosema.

I'm watching him watch the Sun and Moon series.

Where Ash is kind of shoved into the story of Sun and Moon haphazardly.

Kind of just fucking everything up thematically by putting him there, but whatever.

How so? Well, because the entire show has to change now that Ash is now the main character and it's weird because I'm used to the games.

Like, the main villainess is now a loving, caring mother, and it's very weird to me.

Oh, you're

saying it is the plot of the Sun and Moon games, but Ash is just taking the place of the main characters.

If this were a boss fight in an action video game, all it would need is a glowing weak spot.

Pokemon Sun says, The shell on its back is chemically unstable and explodes violently if struck.

The hole in its stomach is its weak point.

In the turn-based battling of Pokémon, this weakness is seen in a simpler way.

Yeah.

It worked in Sun and Moon.

I don't understand.

Actually, was it Sun and Moon or was it? I might have been Sword and Shield.

They made that change.

I think it was Sword and Shield.

Yeah.

Actually back in 2018.

A buddy of mine, we were getting back into Pokemon, right? The, uh, X and Y era had, you know, was fizzling out, transitioning to the Sun and Moon era, right? Breaking into 2019.

And he came up to me with an old binder and was like, "Oh, dude, you see these old, uh, Charizard cards I've got?" And it's two full pages of Base Set Charizards.

Nice.

And then I came back and just started rip and shipping again, started making more content, and that's where it ended up going.

You know, as soon as I got into rip and shipping when I came back home, I realized that I was tired of just looking at the bulk and donating it, so I need to get back into playing the TCG.

So I started getting back into the TCG about Fusion Strike to Lost Origin timeframe, uh, and finished out the rest of the VMAX era and VSTAR era, and I've been playing ever since, right? But the last time I had competed in the TCG prior to that was, you know, in the Sun and Moon era going to, like, locals, right? Just to learn a little bit more.

Nice.

Um, thankfully a few of those aren't affected by the shiny charm regardless, so it's... that's not gonna make too much of a difference.

I was reminded, I like Pokemon Sun and Moon.

I like that generation.

I think Alola's a great setting.

I like a lot of Pokemon introduced in this generation.

I like a lot of the story beats on paper.

God, Sun and Moon and, by comparison, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, are so slow to start and so full of really, really slow cut scenes that you can't mash to get through the text on.

I had kind of forgotten quite how slow and plodding they are with introducing characters that will just talk endlessly at you and constant conversations that will slow you down every two minutes.
