DustyGogoatHOST
15:44
yeah because they were are going to release them in tandem or something i don't know That would be honestly really cool because then you could play through the games, you know, and you could actually, you know, because we've been having a lot of discussions about Pokemon Bank closing at the end or, you know, next year, a day before Pokemon Day in February.
DustyGogoatHOST
16:04
And there's a lot of Pokemon that you're going to be able to, like, that you're just going to lose access to.
DustyGogoatHOST
16:09
Like, if you wanted to catch today, you wouldn't be able to transfer them all the way up to modern games anymore.
DustyGogoatHOST
16:15
but we do have confirmation.
DustyGogoatHOST
16:17
Like, they did announce that, like, FireRed and LeafGreen, these ports will be compatible with Home and then presumably compatible with, like, ZA or Generation 10 in future games.
DustyGogoatHOST
16:28
And so, you know, if Bank closes, but Colosseum is, you know, maybe brought into the fold, all of those shadow Pokemon you can now capture, purify, and transfer into your... into Home and into your collection.
DustyGogoatHOST
16:42
Like, that would be something... that would be preserved that's just like another and I feel like Colosseum is pretty is pretty significant for people who do like to do like ribbon quests for example it's kind of one of those like you know it's like the bottom of the iceberg you know kind of games and experiences for like shiny hunters you know
Patrick EllersHOST
29:49
Or, like, some random day in December or something, like...
Mark MitchellHOST
29:52
Well, and maybe with the, you know, like, Pokemon Bank news happening, it makes sense, you know, to, like, kind of get them out there.
Mark MitchellHOST
30:00
Also, I feel like anytime...
Mark MitchellHOST
30:03
Obviously, they have to work with the Pokemon company, but anytime Nintendo's like, hey, we could really use some extra money, they could just release these Pokemon games, you know? Yeah,
KevinHOST
19:26
Connectivity, maybe you get Jirachi.
KevinHOST
19:28
Pokemon Bank is somehow...
KevinHOST
19:29
Pokemon Bank is dying.
KevinHOST
19:33
No, no, the other one.
KevinHOST
19:35
The Pokemon Box.
Ken HicksHOST
13:22
So, Pokemon Champions is the sweeping sensation that's... sweeping the nation, you know? It is a competitive-focused, free-to-play Pokemon game.
Ken HicksHOST
13:35
You can import Pokemon that you called from Scarlet, Violet, Sword, and Shield, and all those other things to the Pokemon Bank into the game.
Ken HicksHOST
13:43
You can import the Pokemon you've been catching for years in Pokemon Go into the game, as long as it's part of the regulation.
Ken HicksHOST
13:50
And you can just build a team, and you can also get a free Pokemon every day just by logging in nice and easy.
Geoff RamseyHOST

bank.
Geoff RamseyHOST
58:56
We're going to lose your Pokemon bank.
Geoff RamseyHOST
58:57
We're going to do a
Andrew PantonHOST
58:57
weekly check-in on your Pikachu until you fix this.
Andrew PantonHOST
59:09
If anyone was providing info in that scenario,
Gavin FreeHOST
59:12
it was you.
Gavin FreeHOST
59:12
Well, the info was that Pokemon Bank was closing.
Andrew PantonHOST
59:15
Yeah, the bank shutting down.
ThatchHOST
0:16
Of course, we tou- touch on a lot of the things we have new co-hosts on.
ThatchHOST
0:20
There is a lot of thoughts about Pokémon Bank shutting down, so we've got that as well.
ThatchHOST
0:24
So yeah, if you can go ahead, though, and like, subscribe, comment, do whatever on whatever platform you're on, we really appreciate it.
ThatchHOST
0:30
And I can't wait to see what you guys think of the show.
ThatchHOST
4:16
[laughs] I can understand.
ThatchHOST
4:18
Yeah, I...
ThatchHOST
4:19

On this episode of Not Another Gaming Podcast, we are gonna be talking about Horizon's new game canceled.
DomHOST

We also have Pokemon Bank getting shut down, and also, uh, you sign up for the military, get a little dedicated PTL just to play GTA VI.
DomHOST
0:45
So I don't know, maybe, maybe I'll, you know, do a quick tour, you know? But, uh, all that and more, episode 506, Not Another Gaming Podcast.
DomHOST

Let's go.

14 MINS LATER

DomHOST
14:39
I do.
DomHOST
14:40
So, um, well as of, as of February, that method is going away.
DomHOST
14:46
And so right now there's an app called Pokemon Bank that is on the DS.
DomHOST
14:51
You can't download it anymore, but if you have it, it still works.
Brad EllisHOST
73:08
I'm going to read this from Nintendo, their website.
Brad EllisHOST
73:13
Pokemon Bank ends of service.
Brad EllisHOST
73:15
Pokemon Bank, a Nintendo 3DS application that lets players deposit or withdraw Pokemon they have befriended in Pokemon titles on that system from online boxes will be ending service on Thursday, February 25th, 2027 at 7 p.m. Pacific time.
Brad EllisHOST
73:32
As a result, transferring Pokemon from Pokemon Bank to Pokemon Home, which is like the new version of this, will also no longer be possible.
Brad EllisHOST
73:41
If you have Pokemon stored in Pokemon Bank that you wish to carry over, please move them to Pokemon Home prior to the Pokemon Bank's end of service.
Brad EllisHOST
73:49
Please note that Pokemon Bank is not currently available for download.
Brad EllisHOST
73:54
That is because the 3DS eShop was shut down in 2023.
Brad EllisHOST
74:01
Man, a lot of people complaining about PS3 going away and all that digital storefront.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
22:42
I've not played a huge number of things, but, um, I'm, I'm gonna start by talking about my, my maybe grumble, maybe I've put a deadline on myself, my self-imposed gaming deadline that has now shaped my gaming choices for the next little while.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
22:58
So I gotta, I gotta talk about Pokémon Bank on the 3DS.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
23:03
When the Nintendo Switch came out, they made a thing called Pokémon Bank on the 3DS that was like a, you pay, like, five bucks a year for it, and it was, like, essentially paid online storage for your Pokémon, and you could l- store your Pokémon in there if you didn't wanna risk, like, losing the cartridge that the Pokémon were on and losing them forever.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
23:22
Um, but it also acted as a way to move your Pokémon from the 3DS to the Switch.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
23:28
You could move them from Pokémon Bank on the 3DS to Pokémon Home on the Switch, and that's your way of moving them across generations.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
23:35
Um, basically every Pokémon game I think as far back as Generation 3 you can technically move from GBA to DS to 3DS to Switch and forward.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
23:49
Um, a little while ago, uh, it might be, like, a year or two ago now, the 3DS eShop got shut down by Nintendo, but the one thing they left live for, quote, "the indefinite future" was Pokémon Bank.
Laura Kate DaleHOST
24:03
Uh, it was no longer a paid service.
WildcatDad17HOST
35:29
They're replacing Unite with Pocopia.
Blind CrazinessHOST
35:34
Well, since we're talking about not-Go-related news, all, maybe one of you or just me, Pokemon Bank is finally getting shut down.
HoosierDada13HOST
35:44
Yeah.
Blind CrazinessHOST
35:44
On the
Blind CrazinessHOST
36:03
Yes.
Blind CrazinessHOST
36:03
Yeah.
Blind CrazinessHOST
36:04
So you stopped being able to download it back in 2023, 2024 when they shut down the 3DS eShop and they kept Bank online on just life support.
Blind CrazinessHOST
36:15
So once Bank shuts down, they're finally doing the thing that they said they wouldn't do, which is they're cutting off the lifeline where you can no longer take a Pokemon from...
