Point Reyes

It will clear up farther inland early on, but overall looking like we will see that patchy cloud cover throughout much of the day tomorrow.

Our wind gusts picking up this afternoon, especially at the coast near Point Reyes.

And it's going to continue all the way to our inland communities like Discovery Bay and Fairfield.

We're going to see some very gusty winds out near Point Reyes this afternoon, and picking up into those early evening hours, but then dying down as we get into the later evening hours and the early morning tomorrow.

Tomorrow afternoon we'll see those breezy conditions once again for our Saturday.

Over the next 10 days, we're below average right through Monday here in the Bay Area.

Um, this movie was made on the heels of Halloween, like John Carpenter's Halloween, so that was a huge success and just was a bit of a frrrt when it came out.

Everyone was just like, "Whoa, scary fog? What's going on?" Um, it is set in the fictional California coastal town of Antonio Bay, but that is actually the Stinson Beach, Point Reyes area, so there is so much wonderful local photography, places that you can just go to and be like, "Yes, one-to-one I match that with the fog." Uh, the lighthouse is probably the, the one that everyone thinks about automatically.

It's called Spivey Point in the movie, but that's actually the Point Reyes Lighthouse.

And there's also incredible shots of Point Reyes Station in Olema, and there's a point I love in the movie when h- there's just been a big scare in a morgue and night starts to fall, and you're like, "Oh, no, it's all gonna kick off." And, uh, as kind of a bridge into the nightfall, there are these gorgeous dusky shots of, like, that part of the coastline.

There's, like, forests.

It's just incredible.

They're out there in the Farallones.

They're up at Point Reyes.

They're down at Andinuevo.

They're in the kind of triangle out there at sea, right? I just think it's too busy for them anymore.

That was happening the entire time.

And, uh, again, at 13, I, I was in Point Reyes in Northern California off the coast, and I had that same sensation.

It was like a vibration, and I heard this humming noise, and it was annoying the hell out of me.

But I was camping on the coast and went out to the coast, uh, to the beach, and it had to have been, I don't know, 11 o'clock, midnight, 11:00 PM, midnight.

Our wind gusts are going to be pretty calm overall.

Tomorrow we are seeing some gusty winds out near Point Reyes, but overall not seeing anything too extreme as we head into the afternoon.

It is just going to be much cooler.

So our highs tomorrow only reaching the upper 70s for San Jose, low 80s in Los Gatos, mid 70s in Sunnyvale, and Milpitas at 76.

We grew up in a very blue-collar area.

I, I grew up in Point Reyes, which now is not blue-collar.

That's where I am now.

I'm in a kind of a basement dungeon.

You know, the work of garment workers, kind of the whole fashion industry runs on the back of their cheap labor, basically.

And so the pull for me to witches was basically like this aha moment that I write about in the book where I was in visiting the head of the regenerative fiber farming movement, which is called Fibershed, which is outside San Francisco in Point Reyes.

And everything there just felt super witchy.

And it's run by women and they like do this incredible like hyper localization work.
