And here's where it gets infuriating.

When Tovar interviews the detective at the other precinct, he found out that just months after Szyc vanished, his Plymouth Satellite turned up in police hands when a young man named Michael Rossi, a teenager living and working with Gacy, was caught stealing gas while driving it.

The attendant wrote down the plate number, and it traced right back to Gacy's house.

But when officers asked him about it, Gacy calmly explained that Szyc had sold him the car before skipping town.

Afterward, John was driving the young man's car around and telling people the kid had run away.

A month later, in January of 1977, Gacy lured 19-year-old John Szyc to his house under the pretext of buying his Plymouth Satellite, but instead he assaulted him and strangled him to death.

Although Szyc did not work for Gacy, he did run in the same circles as PDM's employees.

Szyc's mom reported him missing right away and kept pressing the police, but they never really looked into it.
