Playing for Change

But it was interesting cutting a track with congas on the basic track and then overdubbing the drums afterwards.

it's great conga playing too i mean oh no russ is great when russ does when russ cuts a track and then he does the percussion parts to it they're they're beautiful i mean he really knows percussion and really can let them sit within the uh the track and the thing that was interesting like a couple two years ago or something like that um Jackson was asked to do Doctor My Eyes for Playing for Change when they take these classic songs.

And I was working on another project.

Russ and I were working on another project at his studio.

We used to watch PBS, and so that was one of our favorite, uh, programs to watch.

And this particular, uh, evening, there was a, a show on called Playing for Change, and a music producer named Mark Johnson had gone around filming street musicians throughout the country, very talented ones, and so he was putting together a compilation, kind of a documentary about this.

Mm-hmm.

And while we were all watching it, mind you, this is the first time the whole family is together watching this program, um, Calem started to cry, and very ups- emotional crying.
