What's bad about having a district?

The challenge has been back in, again, back in the day, I hate to say that, back when, when I was younger and looked a lot better in a suit, all right? Back in those days, people that wanted to get involved and contribute and do public service, you start out with like maybe a Parks and Recs committee, and you move up to Planning Commission, and then you're ready for City Council.

Dresden, Tennessee's Planning Commission voted to advance proposed zoning regulations for data centers yesterday.

But just before the vote, some residents raised concerns about what these facilities could mean for their community.

Jessica Ward was one of a few people who raised concerns, saying it makes her nervous for her kids and the environment.

But despite the Planning Commission's vote to approve the ordinance, this doesn't mean a data center is coming to Dresden.

Instead, the Planning Commission says it wants regulations in place if a data center is ever proposed.

Roughly 200 opponents showed up in Harrodsburg for a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting in late July.

Mercer County is conservative and heavily Republican, but Steve Marshall, a data center opponent from Salvisa, says their coalition has all kinds.

Residents of Stump Canyon near Hereford have successfully opposed a proposed 95-foot communications tower.

The Cochise County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to reject an appeal from the project's developer, upholding an earlier denial by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The proposed tower, near Highway 92 and Lower Stump Road, drew strong opposition from residents concerned about wildfire safety, scenic views, and the area's rural character.

Several residents recalled the devastating 2011 Monument Fire and warned that a tall structure could complicate aerial firefighting operations.

Council also fills a seat on the Infrastructure Advisory and Oversight Board, choosing between William Aaron Rhodes, an Orlando firefighter and 44-year Palm Bay resident, and Wilkana Luma, a financial services owner and 20-year resident with no prior board service.

And a vacancy opens on the Planning and Zoning Board itself, with that appointment set for November 19th.

So Thursday is sequencing.

Council decides the final plan, whose first condition requires this agreement.
