ClairePANELIST
13:35
And Planet Zoo, based on previous Planet Zoo...
ClairePANELIST
13:39
Planet Zoo is probably going to be the most successful, like more than Jurassic, more than Coaster.
ClairePANELIST
13:45
Planet Zoo is very likely to be the most successful game that Frontier spaffs out before the Disney game.
Colin FordHOST
13:53
Oh yeah, the Disney game.
ClairePANELIST
13:57
As of yet, like
Mike CarloHOST

no no no no no because i have i have done very little but it's uh is you get easily distracted with like you know once you have kids but uh uh but it's it is hard it is extremely hard and like there's a lot of books on game design and yes um but i fully agree so like years ago like when i first started reading these books it's actually they're very interesting reading material also for like you mentioned dashboards like if you read a video game design book and then you're in your mind you like pretend it's about building a dashboard for people like a lot of the concepts are very similar like you're you're building things for other people and you're trying to minimize cognitive load and all of this stuff yes so you know what the most effective dashboard is that i've ever used ever and i always tell people this is um the dashboard in the game planet zoo Stan
Mike CarloHOST

at Zoo.
Mike CarloHOST
13:40

Uh, that is fair.
Tony 14HOST
32:20
Frontier Developments, the developers behind Planet Zoo, Planet Coaster, and Jurassic World Evolution, which I didn't realize they shared a developer, uh, they announced that it has entered into an agreement with Disney to develop and publish a new game based on Disney's iconic portfolio of IP, raising the possibility of a new theme park management sim built around Disneyland, Disney World, and all of that.
Tony 14HOST
32:49
Take my money now, please.
Tony 14HOST
32:52
Please make this be a Disney Park, theme park simulator game.
Steve D.HOST
29:36
It's the game studio behind Planet Coaster, which for the uninitiated is Rollercoaster Tycoon, but new.
Steve D.HOST
29:45
Planet Zoo, which is a similar thing, but you build a zoo.
Steve D.HOST
29:49
And the Jurassic World Evolution series, which is where you build a zoo, but for dinosaurs, if that's still a zoo.
Steve D.HOST
29:57
It's situated just down the road from the UK's best university, Cambridge.
Steve D.HOST
31:35
And it's part of why the earnings per share number looks so strong.
Steve D.HOST
31:39
So what's driving it? Jurassic World is the third game in the Jurassic World Evolution series, landed during the year.
Steve D.HOST
31:48
And alongside Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, now make up about 89% of everything from TSL, up from about 77% the year before, which tells you something important about the company.
Steve D.HOST
32:01
It's not a studio that's betting the farm on a big release every couple of years.
Christopher DringHOST
39:16
Very well done.
Christopher DringHOST
39:17
The results are due to strong sales in the Jurassic World Evolution, Planet Coaster, and Planet Zoo franchises, alongside increased tax credits and expenditure credits.
Christopher DringHOST
39:25
The studio has also just signed a deal with Disney to create a game featuring its IP, which is almost certainly gonna be a, a Disney World sort of Rollercoaster Tycoons type game.
Christopher DringHOST
39:33
I'm excited about that.
Ian ConwayHOST
7:06
I can't remember the exact CMS is what they call it.
Ian ConwayHOST
7:09
And so they've got Planet Zoo.
Ian ConwayHOST
7:11
They've got Planet Coaster and Jurassic Park's been the big thing.
Ian ConwayHOST
7:16
And they've just released the third iteration of that, which has got a whacking great crocodile on the front.
SteveHOST
7:34
And so you're incentivized as a player to spend a little bit of money so you can speed up that process.
SteveHOST
7:40
And then what you're trying to do is expand your castle and and look after farms and look after industry and all that sort of stuff so these are games that can run on for months and months and years and years even if you can keep the attention of the user
Ian ConwayHOST
7:52
oh well and the exciting thing for them is you know they they can expand that kind of franchise um the planet franchise so you've got planet coast the planet zoo and they've just signed a deal with disney So imagine, you know, the potential for, and of course the Warhammer Games is going to come out before the end of the financial year next April.
Ian ConwayHOST
8:13
So there's loads to go for.
Nick GarciaHOST
9:59
This is pretty cool.
Nick GarciaHOST
10:00
Disney announced a new game collaboration with Frontier Developments, the studio behind Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, Planet Coaster, and Planet Zoo, fueling speculation about a Disney Parks Tycoon-style game.
Nick GarciaHOST
10:13
Both companies have confirmed the partnership, but have not shared any further details.
Nick GarciaHOST
10:18
That's what I have.
JasonHOST
70:55
Well, this is an announcement frontier developments the studio behind Jurassic world evolution Which is you can make a zoo with dinosaurs, which I played like it was a free for a bit on PlayStation It's fun.
JasonHOST
71:07
It was cool I got bored of it real fast But it was pretty neat and you like design your park from the ground up and you can pick which dinosaurs go and you can breed them and Capture them and you need your flow and you get your burgers here your you know Your drinks over here and you kind of like have to make sure there's restrooms for people and it's a whole thing There's also one called Planet Zoo, which I was playing too, and it was exactly the same thing, which is very fun as well.
JasonHOST
71:31
And Planet Coaster, which I've never played, has inked a deal with Disney to develop an upcoming game.
JasonHOST
71:36
While details of the project remain thin on the ground for now, a press release sent to IGN states that the game will, quote, build upon the company's extensive experience and proven capabilities as a leader in the creative management simulation genre.
