But PJ, what is one festival that we need to check out this season?

Well, yes, I would love it if y'all could check out the Reeling Film Festival.

So it's in its 44th year here in Chicago, and it is a festival that celebrates movies that are told through the queer perspective.

And they are from filmmakers from across the world.

And that'll be in that is going to be 17th through the 27th.

And yes, one of the films they're highlighting for this festival is going to be La Bola Negra.

And I didn't know this.

And we were in the middle of this two-year extension negotiation.

And so now it is moving to the Joliet Speedway for the 2027.

And, you know, that's fine.

And my thing is...

I don't think this is a very popular event because I'll be real.

Nobody talked about it.

Tell me more about this.

So, yes, Fresh Supply is a nonprofit organization on the West Side.

And recently they just opened two recycling hubs out West for you to drop off for old technology that you're not using anymore.

So that includes cell phones, tablets and laptops.

Those two hubs are located in the Garfield Park Community Council headquarters, which is at 4215 West Washington and Bill Chicago, which is at 5100 West Harrison.

um and the goal is to distribute and refurbish devices on the west side um and they want to give them to low-income families and want to address the digital divide here in the chicagoland area um because they did uh the founder jasmine jones and her brother david jones they did research on uh The technology and how it is being used here in the city and over 15, they found over 15 percent of Chicago residents don't have Internet at home and about 15 percent don't have tech devices such as computers, tablets or smartphones.

And like I think that number jumps up a little bit, too, once we get to the West and South Side communities.

But PJ, what was your most recent experience seeing a beloved movie make its return to the big screen?

So I went to go see Scary Movie 6 this weekend.

And I don't know about y'all.

I've been excited for this for years.

Because, like, let me tell you something.

Them first two, and even that third one, too, are phenomenal.

If I had to get a Chicago tattoo, it would be nothing.

think when the third one came out, when he was going to college, I think I...

I think I was going into college as well.

So, you know, these movies hit, okay? You know, the plot of the movie is the toys, and they got a new owner named Bonnie.

And she get a new toy, a lily pad, which is supposed to be like, you know, the iPad.

And so the movie is commenting on like, you know, kids nowadays with iPads versus toys, which honestly, I cannot wait to see.

Like, because the other day, I saw this baby in the stroller.

the color pattern in the end.

So make sure you come out and they got different stages.

It's three different stages, which live music and something new that they doing this year is they have like a space for teens, which will have like performances and games and giveaways and even counseling support and things like that.

So, yeah.

You know, if you have, you know, a young baby gay, you know, who needs some fun and some confidence boosting, bring them on out, baby.

You know, we love all the geese, okay? But no, yes, I'm definitely trying to go.

One thing I would suggest, y'all, Because I was looking at the weather this weekend.

announced their new CEO who got hired, I want to say within the last couple of weeks, Nikki Patton.

I saw they had a class about bike maintenance, you know.

You know, it's summertime, you know, y'all people like to, you know, respect the environment and stuff.

So, you know, learn how to fix your bike.

And then I saw, uh, they also had the story of house music, and they even offering tours and things too.

So it, it really is a fun thing.

Again, it allows you to see different branches, maybe travel to a different part of the city, and you can do-

... conversations, but also at the same time, the season's so far away.

Season's far away, but you just also wanna know that, um, guys are in shape.

You know, that's most important.

Uh, guys are in shape and, um, you know, for a lot of guys, like the young guys and rookies, you wanna see how much they can handle.

Um, you know, throw a lot at them, a lot, like, play, playbook-wise.

Uh, you wanna see if they can get off, if they can go from one play to the next, uh, when we check a play or when we do things like that.

Um, you wanna see if they can read coverages as well along the, along those lines.

At least maybe you're content." I'm just curious, as a guy who spent three long years on a practice squad in Indianapolis and then parts of your time in Cleveland, et cetera, what would you say is the mindset of a practice squad player, especially when they're a tenured guy who's been on the squad for maybe more than a year, and what advice would you give that player based on the experience that you have?

But, no, and, like, people are, the superhero movie is just not pulling people in no more.

Like, even, like, Marvel, they low-key kind of shocked that, like, they movies aren't doing what they used to do pre-pandemic.

Ticket sales in 2024 fell to $8.7 billion, a 23.5% drop from pre-pandemic levels.

And so, like, until, like, we hit that, like, $11 billion, that's when, like, things will get back.

now there's been a little shifty poo okay because they saw some gains in this first quarter and so also they just released a Disney released their line of movies that's coming out and they are just hoping greatly that the titles that they are releasing is going to, like, do a lot of good pre-sales because they said Devil Wears Prada 2.

So, yeah.
