They would almost consistently always consistently move pieces of their structure around so that certain higher trafficked devices would get better scores.

That was clear as day back in the era when we were looking at the Pixel 5 versus the iPhone 12 Pro and the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Because they really came down hard on the Pixel 5 for having smaller camera sensors.

And in their commentary, trashing the Pixel 5 highlighted how Apple and Samsung are using larger camera sensors on their flagship phones.

But then the iPhone 12 Pro got a pass because it had the same camera sensor size as the Pixel 5.

And the Galaxy S20 non-Ultra got a pass.

And it was pretty close in sensor size to the Pixel 5.

So it was only a problem for the Pixel 5.

I'd liken the Pixel 11 to the Pixel 5, and what I mean by that is We had, Google had to have a reset, like just let's make a competent phone.

Let's make a competent phone before we go again.

We reset the, we reset the, the, the counter, as it were.

I think that what Google has done is, yes, they've got rid of the fabric cases and they were all really cool.

But if you've ever been anywhere, and trust me, this happened to my Pixel 5, which was the last one I had with the fabric case.

I think I went out for something to eat and I didn't realize the table I was sat on hadn't been wiped or it had been wiped for something.

They picked up, it was like red, it was like a red, I think it might have been a strawberry daiquiri, like an iced strawberry daiquiri that was on the table.

What's your thinking on this, Nick? Are you tempted?

I have a Pixel 5.

So, yeah, I mean, that would be pretty good, wouldn't it, going from a 5 to an 11? But I suspect my upgrade price isn't going to be great.

I actually like the look of a Pixel Tag.

I'm not going to upgrade my phone just because there's new stuff out.

I upgrade my phone when basically the current phone doesn't do the stuff that I need.

And my Pixel 5, you know, the photos are fine.

And that was removed on the Pixel 5.

I do remember that on my Pixel 3, and I did use it every once in a while.

It worked well.

So it's interesting we bring this up because Google's two big stories this week have sort of overlapped a little bit.

One is the Pixel launch obviously, and the Trevor Noah hosted Tonight Show knockoff, which I thought was quite awkward.

Far less awkward and cringey than last year's, but still-

So I would say that it was mostly a success but still felt a little bit too much like a keynote rather than the thing that they were going for, which is, like, a YouTube show that happened to be airing about the Pixel.
