Did the World Baseball Classic affect Paul Skeens? Which I love that he shouted out the Post Gazette.

And ironically, that is the headline in the Post Gazette today.

And it's something Paul Skeens confirmed.

Mark, you have those quotes.

Paul Skeens, we know he has not had a Skeens type year at all.

He was asked by Colin Beasley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the impact the World Baseball Classic had on his velocity and his overall performance.

Quote, "There are a lot of other factors, so I don't want to put everything on that, but I feel that was kind of the root of it a little bit.

It definitely affected the year.

Mm

... for, uh, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

He's the one that said, uh, or was told or heard that the Steelers proposed an extension that would give Porter 27, just north of, uh, 27 million.

Mm-hmm.

Skeens' ERA is up, his velocity is down.

He tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the WBC forced him to ramp up more quickly this spring, adding, quote, I don't want to put everything on that, but I feel like that was kind of the root of it a little bit, close quote.

to a reasonable conclusion? And do you see this affecting anyone's future participation

in the WBC? I got to go to the numbers with this because I have numbers on this.

It was a guarantee or sorry, that a rumor was 33 guarantee, but the actual, we have a leak that says, oh yeah, it was a fist.

I think it's Jerry Duloc report for Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

He's the one that said, or was told or heard that the Steelers proposed an extension that would give Porter 27, just north of 27 million.

Even in that report, He said that that was just for the next year, for 26.

This will be our last topic for the day.

But in the Sunday edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, there's a front page story that developers proposed to double, double Pennsylvania's energy capacity over the next five years.

This is only a newspaper article, and who knows whether developers can really indeed do what they propose.

As an investor, is this something you want to take a look at? Maybe the energy companies or the drilling companies, because you're talking about using a lot of natural gas to power these new generating plants.

Their pitching, even with Paul Skeens struggling, has been better.

Skeens, by the way, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the World Baseball Classic kind of was the root of his diminished velocity that plagued him this season.

Anyway, the Cardinals' fielding has been substantially better than Pittsburgh's.

And at the bottom line, this is what I care about most, the Pirates have three more wins than the Cardinals heading into this series.
