I've always wondered, is that their-- What is that? Now, I know the, I know the catcher-

So it's called PitchCom, and it's-

I know the catcher's got a ear-

And I'm not talking about stealing signs.

That doesn't exist in the Pitchcom era.

I'm talking about perhaps...

if you're at one ballpark 81 times a year facing pitchers versus other parks all throughout the year, might it be the case that some people in your organization develop an extra strong ability to see slight differences in a pitcher on the mound with like this angle? Cause in this ballpark, I see it better.

And Garrett Cole seems to be upset about something.

Or something with Pitchcom, maybe.

Says Pitchcom's not working, I guess, so he's going to change that up.

Does Pitchcom have a button for that? In 1938, Pitchcom was two tin cans connected by a string, so I'm pretty sure there was a paucity of buttons to go around.

Pitchcom should also have a button for evading fault or assigning blame.

Sometimes blame is necessary, but all too often it's an evasion or an oversimplification.

There's an old line I read somewhere.

But it is crystal clear that pretty much every pitcher that has ever worked with Sean Murphy loves throwing to him.

And a lot of these guys now, especially with Pitch Com, they let the catcher call the game.

They don't...

Chris Sale has talked about it a ton, where like, "I don't, I don't shake off my catcher.

You couldn't be behind the rubber and get your pitch.

Now with the Pitchcom, you can be anywhere on the field and the catcher can deliver the Pitchcom button to the pitcher.

And so that pitcher doesn't have to be set on the rubber at any time.

And I think that that is a change that's been made and hasn't really been abused.

The outfield...

Honestly, I think there should be some sort of communication system, not unlike Pitchcom or just put everybody on Pitchcom so they can talk to each other, range things out.

Max Clark, the young Detroit Tigers center fielder, he actually gave an interview the other day and he did something I've never seen before.

He was talking about Javier Baez's defense and he was like, he's out there at the 16 and he's going 120 feet.

catchers aren't using indicators and whatnot.

Just put the Pitchcom in their hats.

No.

Just do that then.

They need to catch up to it.

And I think they have because they've called the guys out.

Pitchcom breaks every day.

Pitchcom.

From second base it's been going on.

That's hence why we've got the PitchCom device.

But it can happen, you know, it doesn't have to be a signal.

It can be the catcher, you know, giving signs away too just by the way he sets up, and you understanding what the pitcher throws.
