Piran

Captain Talbot ordered a pursuit.

The ensuing engagement is known to history as the Battle of Pirano.

It proved to be quite an anticlimax.

One of the French escort ships was destroyed almost immediately by an explosion in her gunpowder magazine.

That squadron of ships never came.

The French would never mount another serious challenge to British naval supremacy in the Adriatic.

After the Battle of Pirano, fought on February 22, 1812, there was no longer any significant body of water on Earth where Napoleon or his allies could seriously challenge the Royal Navy.

Of course, this did not mean the war at sea was over.

Well done.

Copa and Piran, both on the coast and we ended up sort of there.

And the cruise ships come right in, right in, you know, to the square, you know, to the middle squares.

It's great if you're cruising.
