Pioneer Day

If you've got a secret fringe group meeting in your living room and they kick you out because you're too extreme, I think you might be the problem.

In Utah, July 24th is Pioneer Day, a state holiday with parades and rodeos.

And for a lot of families, it's a day that you spend outside in a lawn chair, waiting on the fireworks to start.

That day, the brothers drove to Brenda and Alan's apartment in American Fork with two drifters who'd been traveling with them.

They're certainly, uh, and Utah, certainly, you know, see themselves as, and always have, as part of the American experience.

But of course, there's Pioneer Day, which you're, which you were referencing.

July 24th, that kind of famous, sometimes some might say infamous, day when Brigham and the Vanguard Company entered the Salt Lake Valley out of Emigration Canyon and declared this is a place where they'd find refuge and build their kingdom on the high desert plateau.

Well, Logan City officials have canceled tomorrow night's rescheduled Pioneer Day fireworks display due to severe weather while also announcing that they're moving an accompanying tribute concert indoors.

City officials announcing this afternoon that the fireworks show, which was originally set for 9.30 tomorrow night, has been postponed until further notice because forecasted weather conditions pose significant safety hazard for pyrotechnics.

Now, the Free Heroes tribute concert, meanwhile, featuring Cole Hartley, will instead now take place tomorrow night, 7 o'clock.

The festivities planned for the overall rescheduled Pioneer Day fireworks display planned for Saturday evening.

They've decided, municipal leaders announced today that the predicted weather conditions tomorrow present a significant safety and wildfire risk.
