Pig War

Americans thought we had it.

And there almost became a real stink about it because evidently there was an American on the island and he shot a pig that was a British pig and almost became a pig war or whatever it was.

But they diplomatically resolved it and didn't let the pig get in the way.

And it didn't take a hundred years.

And yes, eventually someone might shoot the pig.

The Pig War, I like it a lot.

Uh, it makes a lot more sense to me than the Emu War.

Oh, no, the Emu War makes heaps of sense to me.

For example, the records of astronomical events, including eclipses and observations from the Tang Dynasty China, they all line up with the conventional chronology.

basically phantom time remains a conspiracy theory rather than an accepted account of history and somehow wikipedia has an entire article about it now from mystic centuries let's move to something that actually happened and this time it involved a pig as in the pink animal pepper pig yeah that type of pig lo and behold I introduce to you the Pig War.

We go back to 1859 to the San Juan Islands between Vancouver Island and what was then Washington Territory.

The United States and Britain were already arguing over where the border should be.

But here's the part that makes the whole thing even stranger.

Nobody was killed.

The confrontation became known as the Pig War, and it lasted for months, with troops remaining on the island for years afterward.

Eventually, the dispute was settled through arbitration, with the San Juan Islands awarded to the United States.
