Now, Joe Diffie turned a blue-collar, oil-field-to-Nashville grind into a comedy on wheels career.

Then came Pickup Man, a tongue-in-cheek anthem that made truck beds sound more romantic than any dating app ever could.

The track was built slick but playful, and Diffie delivered it like a guy who knew every parking lot was a potential love story.

And the fans, well, they loved it, because nothing says 90s country like horsepower, humor, and a pickup that apparently never gets turned down.

Pickup Man didn't just stay in country radio, it bled into pop culture.

The song popped up in commercials, sitcom references, and years later, Jason Aldean even gave it a shoutout in his 2013 tribute song, 1994, which did go, "Joe, Joe, Joe Diffie".
