And so essentially, this is introducing not just evangelicalism to the story, but a particular strand of evangelicalism that emerges in the 19th century, holiness evangelicalism.

And Hannah Woodall Smith is one of the pioneers, along with Phoebe Palmer and others.

But she encapsulates it so well in this book, The Christian Secret of a Happy Life.

That secret is the power of the will.

Like, I'd like to hear his response.

It sounds a little bit like a Phoebe Palmer approach, a name it and claim it, okay? That is not the same as Charles Finney.

Also, if you believe you can pray clear through, that is also in the shorter way.

I, I don't understand the middle way, shorter way.

salvationOkay, let's just pause for a second.

When Joe Smith brings in Charles Finney, okay, that's a disagreement about how grace functions or whether it's required or not prior to initial salvation, t- so prior to when you first get saved.

Uh, where Phoebe Palmer and Chris Bounds come in, and John Wesley come in, and they're talking about this difference, where these roads diverge, is after you've already been saved.

This has to do with sanctification.
