And so for a long time now, I've sort of been working on my own theories of chord loops because no one else was doing it that I could find.

And this is sort of based on the work of Dr. Philip Tagg, who... laid out this really in his book Everyday Tonality a pretty basic structure of a chord loop there's really just like metric positions where you have like the tonic where you start which you start on and you have the outgoing chord the medial chord and the incoming chord and that sort of describes a circular motion and he didn't go that deep on how that motion worked or what particularly was happening in it and so that was sort of what I wanted to build on and what I wanted to get a better sense of and That sort of led to this idea that he sort of offhandedly mentioned that, like, you know, the medial chord, the third one in the loop, can sound, like, particularly strong as, like, a second counterbalance to the main chord if it's approached by, like, perfect fourth or fifth or by step.

And so that seemed like a good criterion to work from.

And so...
