Four Seasons opened in 1959, uh, Mies van der Rohe and, uh, Philip Johnson design.

You know, it was basically where the power lunch was-

Yeah, this is Philip Johnson.

These are s- And this is, um, Paula Eisenbach.

She's a German student in, at the University of Heidelberg.

Everybody laughed at them.

And then all of a sudden, Philip Johnson, a disciple of Meese, for one thing, a disciple of everybody and their brother.

I mean, Philip Johnson embodied, in a way, in himself, American architecture.

He decided to do a building in New York City with a broken pediment.

And he gave his seal of approval, literally.

to this movement.

And once Philip Johnson did a building like that, then nobody laughed anymore.

And so the idea of somebody doing, you know, somebody of weight, doing something, you don't think I'm right,

They included towers that literally look like castle spires, and it has a drawbridge and a moat.

In Trump's defense, though, it does seem that the architect, a guy named Philip Johnson, a well-known architect in Manhattan, he's the one who takes credit for these ideas.

There was no statues? No? There was no statues he wanted to put in there?

I assume the statues were going to come at some point.

I definitely do.

Because Philip Johnson was here first as always.

Philip Johnson says he loves getting inspiration from landscape and abstract painters and always suggests to young photographers to go to galleries.

Yeah, that's probably something I should do more of is go to physical galleries and see things in person.

I guess he was this tall Bronx accent-speaking guy, but made the most beautiful poetic architecture.
