In an exclusive interview with Fox News Sunday, Governor Phil Scott says that he and other governors agree.

They need to be good neighbors with sound.

These are all things that are doable, but we have to have the right framework to ensure that when a data center comes, the community is better off as a result and not worse.

And Governor Scott, I know that you're trying to find that balance in Vermont where you say you don't want overregulation to hurt AI.

And there are laws on the books to protect communities now.

They still see some.

And that I think the fact that you still see some like an Andy Beshear in Kentucky or Phil Scott in Vermont is indicative of a world where, or Laura Kelly in Kansas, where under the sort of right circumstances and sort of state by state circumstances, there can be some notable differences in a particular gubernatorial election between a state sort of baseline partisanship and how it tends to vote in most elections and how it chooses to vote in the governor's race.

And as you said, candidates can play a big part in that, you know, particularly extreme or, you know, scandal ridden candidate against, I think that has a potential bigger, a bigger impact in a gubernatorial race where partisanship is not, while it's important, it is not, as heavy a force as you see in the federal elections.

So I'm glad you mentioned that.

She is the favorite heavily as a Republican in New Hampshire.

Uh, s- Phil Scott in, in Virginia, uh, heavy favorite.

Massachusetts had Republican, uh, and again, they were moderate Republicans.

W- uh, Baker was a Republican there, uh, governor for years and years and years and years and years and years.

And with the fact that the incumbent, Chris Mattos, not going to run again, a Republican, in that four-town Senate district.

But how much of it was also influenced by the fact that this is I mean, there is going to be a lot of change, and Republicans are salivating at the prospect of picking up further strength in the state Senate and bolstering Phil Scott's ability to kind of influence and to stop objectionable legislation.

You know, I'm going to be really honest.

I think one of my biggest pushes to do this is my connection to the communities that Chittenden North serves.

And here's everything you should know.

In Vermont, incumbent Republican Governor Phil Scott is very likely to win his sixth term.

But the election for lieutenant governor is really where the battle is.

Vermont, believe it or not, has a Republican governor and lieutenant governor.

It's the most competitive race in the state that you should know about.

Very often, lieutenant governor becomes the governor.

So if, you know, for whatever reason, Phil Scott eventually-- Not for whatever reason.

Eventually, [chuckles] he will retire.

They were appointed a judge before the election, so they were ineligible to serve.

They won, obviously, because they were unopposed, and Phil Scott had to appoint someone for the full four-year term.

She never stepped into the office, so it's not without precedent.

So you're still looking into one part of the process, and it sounds like, which is If you should win, as Stuart said, big if, but if you should win in November, on November 3rd, you come out with the most votes, you have to still, you're still figuring out, it sounds like, whether you, on day one, you say, okay, I'm not accepting this.

Does it concern you that if you waited, because you've said this, and a lot of other people have said this, and Sarah George is assuming this, that if you...

But Phil Scott isn't the governor.

I mean, everybody thinks Phil Scott will be reelected, but you never know for sure.
