Phil Hickerson

Bill was a giant killer.

All those tough Memphis area guys like Phil Hickerson.

And, you know, let's not forget those guys, the Don Greens.

They just go down the list of all the people who worked in Memphis primarily.

yeah i mean i guess uh you know it's either him or tom branch you know renesto jr there because that's really the only two people we've built up against him for whatever reason of course you know he may not want the southern heavyweight title but yeah he made sure to get a belt on him one way or another just so he's not naked out there i guess but uh I don't know, man.

I would rather see them rekindle a feud with Phil Hickerson or something here than this Boat of the Witch Doctor stuff.

I think you're onto something there.

Big Phil is easily probably the best heel we have.

I'm going to go, well, wait a minute.

But, I mean, even Coco has been turned babyface at this point.

So, really, Phil Hickerson probably would have been my go-to as well at this point in time.

But we're going to see what they have in store for old Big Phil this week.

Or, you know, just as, as-- Th-they actually, that's what Al Green and Phil Hickerson should have fucking adopted because we, with Hick- Hickerson died here a few weeks ago, right? Or, well, it's been a little bit longer than that now.

It's been a while.

I had Lanza and Duerum, who, uh, Bobby Heenan took to the goal in the AWA.

I wanna mention the Bicentennial Kings, Phil Hickerson and Dennis Condrey, who were huge stars in Memphis.

So when, so when you first got to Memphis, Phil Hickerson was one of the first people you worked a lot with.

You got any good stories, Phil Hickerson matches, anything like that?

He was a really good guy, and it's a shame because while they brought me in, I think they thought they were going to get a more polished guy when I came in, and they quickly realized that I was still pretty green.

I was only in the business really a year, and I was decent.

I could take good bumps, but I was in no position to like...

I think they booked me right away with Phil Hickerson, and he was their champ then.

And I think they kind of figured out, although Phil was really a good guy, you know, and he worked with me and everything.
