Phantom Island

I can't believe that's a true sentence.

The recommendations that it has for me are Alien Metal and Phantom Island.

Are you saying that you use Genius for Giz a lot? I do.

And as a matter of fact, I even upvote a lot of Giz comments and I downvote a lot of Giz comments and I make my own comments sometimes.

I think I rec- uh, that to be fair, even I, King Gizzard fan that I am, sometimes lose track of which records came out which year.

Uh- But they had put out the record with the orchestra last year, um, called Phantom Island, and I listened to it when it came out, uh, as I've done with everything other than the electronic records.

And it, it was solid on that first listen.

Didn't totally grab my attention.

But, uh, I'm glad that I now have gained a full appreciation for the album.

And the, the point I'm trying to make is sometimes our favorite bands make records, and I, I mentioned this with the Michaela Davis record, uh, recommendation fairly recently too, where, you know, first, second, fourth, tenth listen might not totally put it on that level, and then all of a sudden it, it clicks.

So yeah, Phantom Island came out last June, which in King Gizzard time is an eternity.

And [laughs]
