Peter Zumthor

I was, I was staying in this neighborhood and.

a few blocks just east of here, I saw my friend, uh, go by on a bicycle and she had, you know, a city bike, she had headphones on and she was biking up and I wasn't sure if it was her.

And so I texted her and I was like, Hey, were you just biking up eighth Avenue? She's like, yeah, that was me.

They know.

And he was totally doing something different.

But eventually it was clear that if I wanted to have my own point of view, I wanted to be inspired by things outside.

of of of restaurants really um i'm friends with a lot i've always been friends with my all my friends are artists um visual artists mostly painters making sculptures um There's some musicians also.

I'm deeply interested in the arts.

I think we can almost always recognize a work of theirs, but each one is very different.

Same with Zumthor or Rem Koolhaas, other favorites of mine and probably of most architects, and these are architect favorites of architects.

the buildings aren't like the category we're just talking about, Frank Gehry, for example, or Richard Meyer.

Those signature styles are known and easily recognizable, even confusing.

I'm planning to see this one, and they're showing it in 3D, so they're not giving you any links, but this is another 3D architecture movie.

This is called From Inside Out, the architecture of Peter Zumthor.

This is someone I'm not super familiar with, but he's a Swiss architect, and this is about his relationship between people and the places they are visiting, and he is bringing new, cutting-edge 3D cinematography to the film, which takes us through David Geffen galleries and other parts of Los Angeles.

So basically, Inc. has opened, and now we have Telluride revealing its lineup, which plays out over Labor Day weekend.

Um, and, uh, a few years ago, we did a Peter Zumthor sort of, you know, t- for my wife, it's, she got to go to Basle in the spring and, like, the, you know, the Peter, you know, Peter, Peter Zumthor's masterpiece is there, um, in Vieilles douves essentially.

And, and for me it's the, you know, being able to actually experience that building was very special.
