Tell us about that human impact.

Well, the first thing is, of course, it makes the whole organization look very hard at itself because you don't, if you're the head of an organization with several thousand people in Iraq and several thousand people in Afghanistan, that overlap for a bit.

But the scenario was quite similar.

These were a very specific type of operations.

They were wars of choice.

But they were very strictly controlled with a very clear-cut legal basis that was not affording very significant freedoms to our soldiers compared with those that you would expect in total war.

And they were considerably more constrained, for example, than the United States Armed Forces.

We don't really know yet, as we don't know many of the new policies of the new prime minister.

And I think, to be fair, there's a lot going on and we're patient to hear.

Meanwhile, we know that.

Regardless of the arrival of the new Prime Minister, this Northern Ireland Troubles Bill, which is the new legislation, is due to be heard at its committee stage, so-called, in the House of Commons soon after Parliament returns from its recess in the next few weeks, we imagine.

On, on top of that, un- unlike maybe you think of like a regular rickshaw, we had a, a lot of extra, uh, handholds.

And of course, the challenge for the government is redirecting funds from other departments, not least welfare budget, perhaps, where the demands are very high and the political pain is also very high.

So I don't think it really matters who announces this thing.

But with the threats creeping up over the years, and certainly, certainly once we had the invasion of Crimea in 2014 by Russia, really, legality check everybody we need to start building up our defences and certainly after the beginning of the Ukraine war proper in 2022 I mean no one could have been under any doubt now okay we've had lockdown we've not got any money we've had you know the economic impact Ukraine war understand all of that but why is it so many politicians simply when they're in office they can talk a good game out of office but when they're in office do not take the warnings from not just the you know the head of the army you know the head of the navy the head of royal air force but the security chiefs the you know everybody who knows what they're talking about, that we need to spend more and better on defence?
